Hidden Gem Cat Rescue has merged with Seattle Area Feline Rescue as of 10/20/25. Hidden Gem Cat Rescue, an all-volunteer cat rescue specializing in the care of orphaned neonate (bottle baby) kittens, is merging with Seattle Area Feline Rescue. Seattle Area Feline Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit, no-kill rescue that saves feline lives by taking in homeless cats, giving them the care they need, finding them loving homes, and supporting their human companions. This merger will allow the trained, specialized foster caregivers from Hidden Gem to continue to help this high-need population of young kittens with the support of SAFe Rescue’s professional staff and medical team.    

 

There continues to be a growing need in Washington State, as well as across the country, for care for orphaned kittens. These babies are incredibly fragile, requiring round-the-clock attention and consistent medical support. Their health and growth require not only an extensive network of foster homes, volunteers and trained animal welfare staff, but also a community to back the efforts of organizations that provide this level of care. As the number of unaltered cats in our community continues to grow, as does the birth rate of kittens who are at great risk of not surviving without human intervention. 

 

This merger will expand SAFe Rescue’s reach and capacity to care for these orphans, connecting  a growing community that can come together to provide the care bottle babies require. It is because of foster homes and organizations working together that these fragile, orphaned kittens are able to receive the medical support and care needed to survive. The felines that come to SAFe Rescue receive the care they need including spay/neuter to reduce future orphaned kittens, medical care, microchips, vaccines, loving adoptive homes, and the second chance they deserve. 

 

SAFe Rescue and Hidden Gem are looking to our community to help support this merger and make sure we have the resources to meet the needs of our tiniest felines well into the future.
